it brings them to a beautiful hill in a park? there are a few other people around, scattered, but they're more toward the bottom of the hill - just far enough to be background noise. at their feet there's a picnic blanket that's large enough for two. right behind them is the trunk of a tree and up, up, up, and over the branches spill out to provide shade and the gentle fall of cherry blossoms. no, i'm not doing this just to fuck with you there's a reason. but the little splashes of pink litter around the area. it's a warm day with the slightest breeze.
well, here's the thing. in some ways, for all of his 100+ years, white has lived a sheltered life. for most of his childhood, he saw little of the light—even before he was permanently deprived of it by becoming a deman.
and the demans, despite their arrogance, missed the sun so much that they created a false sky just to experience it again. it took lessa's gift of his one day under true daylight for white to realize even that wasn't comparable.
even so, artificial or not, here he's recreated some of the scenery he never got to experience in life, but remained bound by the limits of his own knowledge and imagination. seeing this is... actually kind of overwhelming—a reminder of the world that he was never able to live in—and it's making him a bit emotional.
and, well, white is terrible at hiding his emotions! as he just. kind of stares at everything.]
. . . but the stunned reaction manages to get mineo to pause, and tilt his head in confusion. he takes his hand off the panel and just sort of - waves one hand in front of white's face as he tilts his head in concern.]

he doesn't really believe that? he'll just go to kneel on the blanket besides white and just. clap two hands on his shoulders and gently shake him a little?]
